Academic and Learning Resources

Student academic success is important to us at BEOC. In order to assist all students in completing their programs, various academic and learning resources are made available. These resources include individual/group tutoring, and open labs for practice in skills development and completing assignments. Academic and learning resources are supported by the Office of Academic Affairs.

ATTAIN LAB

The ATTAIN lab is a part of a network of state-funded computer labs open to students as well as the community. The lab offers access to career, academic, and workforce development training modules. These modules are customized training programs that can be administered by staff or completed by self-study. BEOC students may access software applications that support their coursework in all programs and extend their learning beyond the classroom. The lab coordinators assist students in managing their learning needs. Users also have the option of creating SUNY email accounts.

Applicants who do not meet the academic requirements for any BEOC program, may register for the ATTAIN lab to improve their skills in order to re-test for admission to their desired program.

BEOC students and community residents can get certified in the Microsoft IT Academy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access courses), prepare for the High School Equivalency test, use English as a Second Language modules, or get work readiness certifications.
