Thank you for your interest in SUNY Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC). The enrollment staff is committed to assisting you throughout the application process. Staff will be available to assist and answer questions by email or phone. We encourage you to check your email regularly after completing the online admissions application.
Reminder: College Prep and Career programs require a high school diploma or equivalent.
Important Notice
We have recently learned that SEL Medical Group, a business located at 395 Pearl Street, has been using our name and information to suggest that we are an affiliate of their business. BEOC has never had an affiliation with SEL Medical Group or any of its members and does not authorize the use of our information for any reason. Moreover, we do not require medical exams to qualify for any of our programs.

Program Updates & Communications
Automated Text Messages from Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC)
Text messaging is one of the ways, but not the only way, Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC) communicates with prospective and current students who choose to opt in to receive text messages. Individuals who opt in may receive automated text messages about admissions, recruitment events, application updates, financial aid timelines, registration reminders, and other important notices related to enrollment and student support services.
BEOC does not charge students for this service. However, standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Any charges related to receiving text messages are the responsibility of the individual receiving them.
You may opt out of receiving BEOC text messages at any time by replying STOP to any text message you receive from BEOC. You may also request to be removed from text communications by contacting BEOC at info@beoc.cuny.edu.

Can I bring my child to class?
Children are not permitted at BEOC. They are only permitted when they are attending a specific activity that has been approved for children, and only for the duration of that activity.
Does BEOC offer free metrocards?
No, BEOC does not offer free metrocards. However, students may earn metrocards by participating in certain school activities.
I have been out of school for a long time. Will I fit in?
BEOC’s student population is diverse. We have experience working with students of all ages who may not feel ready or are anxious about returning to school. Our faculty and staff focus on creating a welcoming, supportive learning environment that aids the student’s success.
