Career Advisement and Placement
The Career Services staff provide career advisement and placement assistance to students and graduates. The career advisors and job developers coordinate mandatory workshops on job search strategies for graduating career students; develop internship and job opportunities; post job opportunities; and coordinate recruitment events and job fairs throughout the year.
The Career Resources Center is open to BEOC students, alumni and community residents for career and professional development activities including online job searches, resume preparation, assistance with applications for internships, externships and jobs. There are also opportunities for students to secure clothing for interview purposes.
Job Readiness Training (JRT Workshops)
The JRT advisor coordinates a semester long Job Readiness Training sequence, open to all students and to the community. The series include:
- Discovering You
- Your Learning Style
- Effective Communication
- Decision Making
- Working in a Multicultural Environment
- Creating a Job Portfolio
- Managing Your Finances
- College in Your Future
Students who complete the series successfully receive a JRT certificate.
